   Activity

   The students
  will select a shape book. (a whale, a fish, or an octopus) The students will
  use the ocean word wall to fill in the blanks of the book. ( ______ live in
  the ocean.)  This sentence will be
  printed on each page. They will write the word on eth line, remembering to
  use a capital letter.  Then the
  children will draw a picture to illustrate the sentence.  Each book will include 5 pages.  When the children finish writing and
  illustrating the book, they may color the pages and the cover. Then they will
  practice reading their book.           *This activity will take 2 rotations
  in my centers to complete.  They will
  keep the book in their cubbies until it is complete.  |

   A checklist will
  assess their writing project. It should include: name, capital letter to
  start each sentence, and an illustration on each page.  |
